Their fierce ultraviolet light carves the cavity you see, lights the surrounding hydrogen pink and red, and drives the vast, wind-blown ridges that sweep across the field. Its stellar wind races outward at more than four million miles per hour, sweeping up the surrounding gas into the shell you see. The star sits off-centre because the cloud is denser on one side, so the bubble grows lopsided.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"paragraph-skylit\"\u003eAround the bubble, fierce ultraviolet light sculpts the thicker gas into the fingers and pillars at the top left, each one a stellar nursery in the making.
