What is a star map?

A celestial chart captures the arrangement of stars, planets, and constellations as viewed from a particular place on Earth at a given moment in time. These charts are meticulously calculated using a comprehensive dataset of astronomical objects to accurately represent both historical and future skies.

Our Celestial Charts are crafted based on the following parameters: Orbital Position of Earth (date), Earth's Rotation (time), Earthly Coordinates (viewing location), Celestial Spheres (stellar declination and ascension), Stellar Catalogues (Hipparcos Catalogue for stars and other specific catalogues for deep sky objects (DSOs)), Astronomical Repositories (features of galaxies, star clusters, and real astronomical images), Luminosity (apparent brightness of celestial bodies), Orientation (compass markings, an optional feature you can select during customisation), and Galaxy Enhancement (visual feature). Each star map is optimised for clarity and beauty in print, ensuring a stellar visual experience.
