LONDON · TOWER HAMLETS

Tower of London, your way.

The White Tower, the curtain walls, the moat and Tower Bridge to the east, rendered in 3D from real map data. Rotate, tilt and zoom to the angle you want, pick a colour theme to match your room, and we'll print it from our Manchester studio.

THE STORY

Nearly a thousand years of fortress, prison, treasury.

William the Conqueror started it in 1066. The White Tower — the central Norman keep — was finished by 1078, a deliberate statement of power on the eastern edge of the City. The concentric curtain walls came later, added by Richard the Lionheart, Henry III and Edward I across the next two hundred years. By the late Middle Ages the complex held the Crown Jewels, the Royal Mint, the menagerie, and rather a lot of political prisoners.

The print you'll design captures the whole fortress as it stands today: the White Tower at the centre, the two concentric walls, the dry moat, Tower Bridge a few hundred metres east across the river, and the City of London skyline rising behind to the west. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

SHOWN IN 3D

Real fortress, real river setting.

Most Tower of London prints reduce the complex to a single silhouette. This one doesn't. The White Tower renders as a detailed 3D model — the four corner turrets, the central keep — flanked by the curtain walls and corner towers, all extruded from real geographic data on the bank of the Thames. It's stylised map art rather than a photograph, but the footprint, scale and setting are real.

Pick dawn, day or dusk for the lighting. Pick a colour theme — classic ink, ivory, midnight, monochrome and more. Tilt the camera anywhere from straight-down to near-horizon, rotate to any compass bearing, zoom to the crop you want. Every choice you make is in the print.

WHO IT'S FOR

The first London walk, the Tower lit at night, and the history you can stand inside.

Some Tower of London prints commemorate a specific moment — the first weekend in London with the kids, the dawn you watched the Tower lit from a Thames Path bench, the dissertation on the Plantagenets you spent a year writing. The customizer lets you drop a pin (or several) and the print shows them right where they belong on the map.

Others want just the fortress, the moat and the river — undecorated, framed, hung above a fireplace as a quiet record of nine centuries you can walk through. Both ship from Manchester rolled, framed or canvas-wrapped.
