Memorial prints: holding a date that mattered

There is no version of words that fills the shape they left, and this page will not try. What it can offer is one small, considered way to mark a date that will always belong to them.

Many people come looking for a memorial gift, an in loving memory print, or a remembrance keepsake around a birthday, an anniversary of passing, a service, or the first quiet weeks after a loss. How a personalised print can hold a moment

A date by itself can feel abstract on a calendar. Pinned to a real sky, it becomes something you can stand in front of. Skylit Studio makes two kinds of print that work well as a memorial keepsake, and both are personalised to a single moment.

The Star Map shows the exact night sky above a chosen place at a chosen time. You pick the date, the time, the location, and an inscription. The print renders the real stars and constellations that were overhead that night: the day they were born, the day you said goodbye, an anniversary you want to hold gently, or simply a day that always belonged to the two of you.

The Memorial Moon Map is a quieter variant. Instead of stars, it shows the phase of the moon on a specific date, framed by a short personal inscription. Some people choose the moon from the day of their loved one's birth, others the moon from the night they were last together. A Moon Map can also work beautifully for the loss of a pet, where a single phase and a name carry the whole story.

If a particular place mattered more than a particular night, the Star Map and Moon Map both let you set the location as well as the date, so the print is anchored in geography as well as time.

What's included

Every print is made to order in the UK. You choose the date, the time, the location, and a short inscription that sits below the sky or the moon. The coordinates of the place are printed in small type beneath. Nothing is templated; the rendering is calculated for the exact moment you give us.

Sizes start at A4 and go up to A2, with A3 the most common choice for a mantelpiece, a hallway, or a bedside. Each print can be ordered unframed, or framed in a slim black, white, or oak frame. Paper is a heavyweight matte fine-art stock, chosen because it holds deep blacks for the sky without glare.

Production usually takes one to three working days. UK delivery is tracked and arrives in two to four working days from dispatch. Framed prints ship flat and protected; unframed A4 ships flat, larger unframed sizes ship rolled in a sturdy tube.

A note on the inscription

The print has a large script inscription and a smaller caption line. Many people use the script line for a name, and the caption for a short phrase: always, forever loved, our girl, a nickname only the family used. There is no rule here.
