The customiser search finds addresses, towns, parks, venues and landmarks anywhere in the world. Once you have found the place, the most important decision is how close to go.
Wide views: the whole town or city
A city-scale view shows the river, the main roads and the outline of the place. It reads well from across a room and suits anyone with a broad connection: a hometown, a university city, a place you lived for a decade.
Mid views: the neighbourhood
Zoom in a few steps and individual streets, parks and waterways appear. This is the sweet spot for many new home gifts, because the recipient can trace their walk to the shops, the station or the park.
Close views: a single street or venue
The tightest views pick out individual roads. They suit a wedding venue or a first house, and work best when the person already knows exactly what they are looking at.

An optional pin marker
A map print with a pin and caption is one option, not a requirement. If you want to mark the exact spot, place an icon on the map, drag it into position, choose its size, and add a short label if you like. You can add more than one, which is useful for a story with a few chapters: the flat you rented, the house you bought, the church where you married. Or leave the map unmarked and let the whole place speak for itself.
The caption
Beneath the map sits the text block. You can write a heading, a personal message and a line of details such as the place name, and choose whether to show the coordinates. There are regular fonts and script fonts to choose from, so the words can feel formal, relaxed or romantic.

Unframed A4 prints ship flat in a rigid cardboard mailer. Unframed prints from 30 x 40 cm upwards are rolled and sent in a sturdy cardboard tube. Framed prints are wrapped in protective materials and boxed, and canvases are boxed ready to hang.
